You know what, I’ve felt really good this week. A weekend of planning and writing gave me a real push.

Clarity plus action puts me in the best setup for success.

The formula for change is very simple. You need a powerful vision and you need first steps that are stronger than resistance.

It’s been a difficult six months, but I can see the light and there’s heaps of it.

If you wake up and say, like I do, “I am Mr Solutions”, guess what happens. You find solutions, and I absolutely love it.

I’m unstoppable. I want to make change happen. I’m unstoppable in making my vision and goals a reality.

The process of writing things down really does bring things to life.

Like all real wins in life, if something is easy to do, it’s also easy not to do; exercise springs to mind here!

I know not many people write down what they want. I implore you to join me in my mission to get everyone to take notes and set goals with pen and paper. You’ll thank me when you see your brain and the universe working in harmony.

My prolific notepad scribbles have helped me more than anyone really knows.

Here are some of the musings I wrote with my fountain pen this week… (try a fountain pen - really makes a difference)

"I want to win. I want to be around the right people. I want to make the right calls. I move away from negativity. I eat challenges for breakfast. With every step I take, I’m walking towards abundance and winning the day."

And...

"I embrace awkward conversations like they’re as natural as turning off lights when leaving a room, something I do as often as breathing"

If you’ve been reading, watching, or listening to my thoughts for some time, you’ll know I love the word "effective". I constantly use it as my measure. On the effectiveness scale, I felt I was at the top of my game this week. I’m proud of my little self.

I put it all down to writing things down in the little minutes I find for myself.

Those pockets of silence, all on my own, to plan and think. Proper thinking.

This might sound like something your gran would say on a well-trodden path of wisdom, but honestly, writing things down is a powerhouse of productivity. It creates a kind of magic.

Effective people work on very important, non-urgent tasks. Most people put out fires. Great people prevent them.

I want to bottle this idea and sell it.

Thanks to my daily 60-minute planning this week, I was on teams, following up, and smashing the effectiveness scale.

It’s funny how, when you know your why, the how becomes so much easier. With clarity, you can really get things done.

One thing I teach at seminars is this formula: Be x Do equals Have.

I knew what I wanted to achieve to have a dream week and be effective. I wanted to win. I knew who I needed to be and what I needed to do.

My haves were all lined up.

Write the list. Take your 60 minutes of silence. Lean into the difficulty, and then work on how to get everyone around you doing the same. Get everyone in flow.

Here’s the final piece of the puzzle. I truly believe in this success theory. E plus M equals S.

Entrepreneurs need managers. Managers need vision, ideas and direction so they can plan the journey.

For every Walt Disney, there’s a Roy Disney. For every Steve Jobs, there’s a Steve Wozniak.

My brands succeed because I have managers bringing structure to my vision, if things are not doing so good its usually because we lack a senior manager implementing. E + M = S - That’s how I get so much done or appear to.

Let’s hope I don’t get found out that it's talented, implementing managers rather than me!

If your business isn’t thriving, think about it. Are you sitting in the wrong seat? (or have teams in the wrong seat)

Are you an entrepreneur acting as a manager or are you missing the other side? - or do you need to find some new talent?

In my experience, businesses need both the ying and the yang. You can’t grow without leadership and management.

In other news, I broke my finger last week. On the other hand, I’m okay.

I got sent this wonderful quote on instagram too

"we grow old too soon and wise too late"

To your continued success

James
